Question about mentioning the other well known site!

Hi

I got my shop all up and running. I made my first sale in the week and received praise feedback, even more gratifying!

Naturally I want plenty more. I need to attract more people, but will I do sales if people don't trust me?

I think the one major flaw which EBID has to overcome is the trust aspect. Can I prise away buyers from the other well known site to buy here. Maybe, though the other sites guarentee is a major factor for buyers. So basically goes down to trust.

Ok down to Feedback. I have my 1 EBID praise and other major praise imported from the other site. In time when I reached some sales on EBID. I would like to delete the other sites imported feedback and trade solely on my EBID reputation.

However, I feel it's a bit Chicken and egg here at the moment. Ok people can see my imported feedback, but actual seeing is believing!

My question is what lengths am I allowed to go to get people to actually see my feedback rating on the other site for themselves? I really want to put that trust across to say look at these transactions I done, but now I am here.

Can I put a hyperlink here to my old account on the other site. I don't trade on the other site now, purely out of principles. Though unfortunately people will look here then at the other site and probably complete the purchase sadly there.

Any advice be welcome.

I have over 2000 100% positive feedback on ebay which I've not imported, that just seems so alien to me, this is eBid, I think it should be eBid feedback that is important. I still sell on ebay (it's good way to advertise eBid). my last 18 sales here (before the YDC ones) were from a regular buyer from ebay.

It's not that difficult to build up your eBid feedback, you could support this site by buying some items, you could buy or sell in the monthly YDC (Your Donation Counts) charity auctions (24th to 28th of the month), you'd also be helping charities and good causes that way. You do have other options.

I advertise eBid by including info about eBid in the packages I send to ebay buyers. It is difficult to get people to buy from eBid, not sure why, it may be because buyer protection isn't in your face here as it is there, so there maybe isn't the confidence in buying, though buyers have the same buyer protection if they pay via Paypal.

ok Emmily many thanks. I far as i see most things are the same here as there; barring the fees of course.
I'd be so chuffed if things picked up to half like they were on the other site!
The recipe here for this site is all there. It just needs people to sample the cake!

At one time it was possible to put a link on your page to other sites feedback systems, by using the repatoo (think that was the name) site. I did not use it myself. When it was launched it was a free site which then started charging.

I do firmly believe that the trust thing is the major hurdle here.
I do think that EBID needs to push the pay by paypal same as the other site type thing. I think most people who look at EBID think you have to use world pay or something not as secure or trustworthy etc.
