This is YDC and not a government Becky so there's no leader.

YDC hasn't changed AT ALL in the time I have been on eBid. The rules need re-writing so that all participants know exactly what their fees will be rather than overspending their household budget in the 21st century. So, my questions remain but, 3 days is not long enough to advertise this so called job.

Gill, the fact that the YDC auctions run smoothly indicates (to me at least) that the rules are fine as they are, what would you like to see changed? My personal opinion is that the awareness of the YDC auctions needs to be increased to get new members involved, apart from the odd (not odd as in strange) new member it's the same very generous sellers and buyers month after month.

I'd be curious to know why veteran eBid members that used to participate in YDC now longer do.

I have been here since 2006 and since then there have been several changes to the YDC.

When I first took part, the YDC auctions started on the last weekend of the month.

The line about an auction not being a competition entry was added after I started joining in and I am pretty sure the event was called Yorkie's daft Competition back then too.

So far as the fees are concerned...the fee structure is nothing to do with the YDC as that is down to eBid.

Well Vonz runs the YDC so I regard her as a leader.

You must have a short memory Gill as I only started taking part in 2008 and not only have there been the changes that Moonie has stated but YDC was also split into two at one point with UK and USA participants raising money for charities in their own countries and then amalgamated again. The length of time the YDC runs has also been changed from 7 days to 4 days. Special YDC's have also been run for YDC200 and in memory of RonOne. All these things were discussed and voted on.

I too have seen a few changes in the rules and IMHO quite a few US members gave up because of this, I too almost gave up but decided to go with the flow as I am in it for the charities and helping those worse off than I am. Any changes to the rules (usually via members ideas etc) have always been voted on. I did notice a decline in YDC member participation when it was voted in to reduce the listing time from 7 days down to 4 days (then again, maybe it's just my imagination LOL)
