Sad to say I have become disillusioned with all charities. I no longer have confidence that donations go to the intended cause. They seem to be run more for the benefit of the organisations nowadays rather than for the cause. I no longer feed clothes banks or collection bags as they often end up lining the pockets of petty crooks.

The Red Cross were collecting for the relief of those hit by the flooding in the UK last year, but I bet the money ended up in Africa or some other lost cause overseas.

Yes it is a very sad story and even more so in that what he did cost his wife her life.

I see that he has set up another charity in his wife's name over at Redruth !

I just hope that all the bad publicity won't harm the fantastic work that Shelterbox do which I saw at first hand when I visited their headquarters. I think they will need more support than ever to overcome what one stupid individual has done if he is found guilty.

I was manager of a mental health charity in London for a time.

I left disillusioned by the pressure of petty interests to control the direction of the charity. Such as, sell the buildings that serve the mentally challenged so we have lots of money to spend on whatever we like.
