Postcards as a top level category, please.

As there appears to be a change of opinions on the subject of new Top Level categories, I would like to repeat this request, which has been made many times by many people.
I thought that this had been ruled out by Gazza's reply to a previous thread on this subject in which he said

"We don't want to add another top level category, but can change Stamps to Stamps & Postcards if it would help at all."

It now appears from a thread posted by eBid Andy in this Forum today that you are considering a new Top Level categories. If you arte considering this surely you should also consider making Postcards a new Top Level category. As has been previously pointed out there are over 200,000 postcards at present in the Collectables top category. This is more than in almost all of the Top Level categories which exist at present. I rest my case.

As I said on the previous thread:

All I can see with postcards being moved is:

Less postcard sales
Less collectable sales (because of the cross over sales and a couple of other reasons)
Less postcard seller+ sign ups, because I can see them coming in via the eBid adword 'auction site' - going straight to collectables and seeing no category.

So a lot of work for zero gain - I don't see anybody benefiting in moving the postcard category.

I don't see the quantities listed as a valid reason on top level cats - that only applies to sub categories. I have supported the creation of a top level craft/handmade category because I can see benefits - but there are no benefits to moving postcards.

I can see one benefit - that hideously long drop down selector would be smaller for both postcards and collectables!
