Default Bid Price vs. Buy Now Price

    Hello ALL!!!

I am brand new to ebid and like many here came from ebay where my seller experience has become worse and worse over time.

Question: From your experience, do you find it more useful to allow buyers to bid on your item or offer a buy now option only???

    Thank you!

    Welcome!

I do both...............best of both worlds. List it at auction, with the lowest price you are willing to take, then add a buy it now for a little more, for those that are in a rush! I sell both ways....probably more bin,

    Welcome.

Most sales are with BIN. As traffic is slower you do not get the bidding wars on eBid. I also think that society these days is more immediate, sellers want to just buy the items and not wait for an auction to end.

Thank you! I have gone with the buy now option thus far but may try a few bids. I tend to go by my own buying habits which are - I buy what I want now before I have time to change my mind!!!

Sounds good! I'm thinking maybe I didn't state my idea very well.............each listing I do has both an auction price, AND a BIN price.....so buyers can choose which they like.

Lots of sellers use a start bid price (of which they would be comfortable accepting) plus a buy now price (which Google demand if you want your item to be uploaded to their search list). So you might see something like: Bid: 1.80 Buy Now: 1.90

I don't want to come over as being contrary....but as well as listing using a buy it now price and an auction start price that features the lowest price that you'd take for an item you could also list as buy it now with the best offer feature....this can be set to auto decline, and you also have the ability to enter the price that you'd accept as a lowest offer...

i guess its all the same thing really....but stay away from listing exclusively auctions on this site as they seldom work out.

Yes, that's how I do it on my artwork, use the Make An Offer feature on auto accept/reject.... Funnily, no-one's used that so far.... but then again, I don't sell an awful lot on here...
