They used to be for sale with buddy points - I did the same with pens. Now I get tape & labels - I give some of the labels to a friend who needs them for all her mail. She is blind and needs standard labels for addressing envelopes, using her computer. That does two things - helps her and promotes eBid.

I get shopping bags with my buddy points, then if I sell anything heavy at a boot sale I put it in one so that they walk around the boot sale advertising eBid.
That's great as long as it's buyers as well as sellers. I'd never heard of eBid until I was thinking about SELLING (and I'm in the UK). eBid has a bit of rep for not advertising (or buying the dot.com name) so sellers should do their bit by mentioning ebid in things like ebay forum threads - especially as ebays undercover little helpers slag off ebid on there.

Also ebay will close threads with (critical) titles they don't like - and lie about why they are closing them. Plus they have many undercover "members" spending all their day aggressively defending ebay (and criticizing ebid).

I don't think that's a fair comment. The members on TOS give up their time to help others, just as they do here on eBid, in a more relaxed way. What you see as 'aggressively defending' is the harsh realities of selling there, it's a harsh place to sell on, and it's no good pretending it's not.
Also, I think that Lithium (who run the forums), probably under orders from ebay, are editing posts that mention eBid more often than they used to, says quite a lot.

These responses don't make any sense. It's true and therefore not unfair, and it's not a case of the pot calling the kettle black as far as I'm concerned. I don't work for eBid and don't spend all my day aggressively defending an auction sites policies, scrutinizing a complaining sellers feedback to see what I've got on them before posting a comment, and sneering at (unfairly) banned sellers - like a small army of "members" do on ebay sites around the world.

Good points. As a former buyer on TOS, I used to visit their forums from time to time and saw pretty quickly how cutthroat they were; it rather put me off selling there, so I never did. I don't blame the members so much as the site itself, IMHO not a nice place at all.
Best wishes for many sales to all,
