After last night's rain all the leaves have fallen from my fig trees.

The kind of beaches I go to, I don't need fig leaves.

It's not rude to be nude in Maspalomas. Indeed, the dunes act like a giant fig leaf to cover your assets. Get back to nature in the south of Gran Canaria.
The Maspalomas dunes are the destination of choice for holidaying couples. However, given it's gay-friendly reputation, you're as likely to run into Adam and Steve as you are Adam and Eve. Needless to add, but this is one of the hottest parts of the island and you should reapply sun cream as often as on a hourly basis.
This is where I am spending January. Enjoy the snow.

Good morning
I think we have gone back a season or two.
It's grey, wet, miserable, not the August that I remember as a kid. Seems like we have that fizzled out hirricane hanging around.
Given the destruction that proper hurricanes can deliver, why do they give them such friendly names?, I mean Bertha sounds like my old aunt's name.
Suitable names should be Apocalypse, Armaggeddon, Dark Destroyer, Lucifer and other such names, then we would take notice of the weatherman a bit more.
Weatherman.. " You better hide and get safe, the Dark Destroyer is on the way in 24 hours".
Better than the "Auntie Bertha will be visiting here soon" version.

Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass, it is about learning to dance in the rain.
I am flying off from Gatwick this afternoon, so I hope the plane can take off!
It unbelievable, I have had a trip booked for a few months, its only for three days to N. Ireland and the three days that we are going, the weather is bad.
