As far as I can tell all threads start with a one star rating.

Veiwing and comenting on a thread do not increase the stars, you have to click on "rate this thread" at the top of the page and give it the star rating you think it deserves, the system then averages out the stars from all ratings received.

That is how I see it working, but I could be wrong.

Now back to the Blue Rabbit.
