Tristan da Cunha is not in Africa

Just tried to list a Tristan da Cunha first day cover, only to be told by eBid stamp categories that it is under the category Africa: Tristan da Cunha.

Last time I had a quick tour of the world it was in the South Atlantic Ocean between Africa and South America

Wow, just had to Google this, not near anything! According to Wiki it's the most remote inhabited archipelago in the world. What a cool place that would be to live.

Considering it's a British posession, (which everyone probably already knew but me), wouldn't it be better placed under Britain or British territories (if there is such a category) than Africa? How does Africa enter into it?

BTW: Thanks for the geography lesson, tres cool to this map nut.

The nearest land to Tristan da Cunha is South Africa.

It is an easy mistake to put Tristan da Cunha as belonging to Africa
but too tidy-minded
Perhaps it doesn't belong anywhere
