No use to me either. I only use my mobile for emergencies and prefer the good old hardback and paperback books to read.

As long as it has Android 4.0 or newer it should be ok.

Same here Gill. I can't remember the last time I used my old mobile but it's the size of a brick and isn't compatible with any of these new-fangled apples or bananas or whatever they are called. LOL

As for book-readers (is that what they are called?), over my dead body! Give me the hardback/paperback versions any day. How awful it would be to find all the bookshops disappear.

I love a good old browse in a bookshop and, even better, I really love going to my bookshop heaven in Hay-on-Wye.

Gill, even if you never ever use the apps you will still find them incredibly useful . I probably wouldn't be far wrong if I said that at least 20% of your eBid visitors last year were using mobile/tablet devices. Going forward you now have the potential to sell to these visitors.

For me the apps are the biggest and most important site update ever.

Many people are now using a smart/iphone/tablet/ipad as their primary device and with the improvements that these devices benefit from at each generation point then this looks set to be even more so the case. So....could the majority of internet buyers be mobile based within the next couple of years?.

Could be.....................or not. I wouldn't be surprised. So many people have the all-singing, all-dancing kind of phones, and can't bear to be without them. Esp the younger generations are usually glued to their devices, and the ones I know do most of their shopping online.

The biggest majority of the people that i happen to work with rarely turn their laptops/pcs/macs on these days as most of the day to day functions are handled very well by the newest mobile devices, the future will bring even more convenience and power to these, and the numbers of people will be set to grow even further.

Yes mobile is the way of the future especially in in the developing world.

Once ebid bed down the mobile apps I'd like to see them release an API.

That may attract some bigger sellers.
