Browsing the new threads this morning I noticed raindropsies requested a new sub-cat for Potty (as in kids potty for pee pee). Within 24 hours she received a personal reply to her thread informing her that it has been added....HUH?

Since October, 2013, I have been requesting a new sub-cat in Health & Beauty and my requests have gone unanswered. My original request was:

There isn't a single category with the word SOAP in it on eBid...??? What I found when doing a search under Sell for the word soap is:

Health & Beauty : Other
Home & Garden : Bathroom : Accessories
Whatevers Left! : Other
Health & Beauty : Body, Bath & Shower

What a selection! So I checked other selling sites and found soap, handmade soap, etc., on every single other selling venue....geeeeez, boyz! We've requested the selling categories to be updated over and over and over again...

Let's get the eBid categories UP-TO-DATE !!!

Oh, and can I please request a category:

Health & Beauty > Bath & Body > Soaps

So here I am, once again, requesting for at least a reply to my need for this new sub-cat. I can't sell them if buyers can't find them!!

iwiw....I've seen a lot of category requests being addressed lately......and some go back way before yours. My guess is they are doing them in some sort of date order, as much earlier ones have been answered now. Hang in there! I think a lot of sellers would like the soap category in Health and Beauty, too!

I should have stayed out of this forum

I looked at our request that handmade goods be removed from the Crafts category

They've considered it and decided that the current arrangement is good!

That is insane... I deleted an expletive there and I seldom use expletives

July to end January = 6 months and a little bit.

My current opinion is that whoever decides on whether to add or deny a suggested new category has very limited selling / buying experience.

When listing, I would rather just list in a category for 'that type of item' rather than a category 'no correct category so stick it in xyz as that is close enough' category.

The problem is that everyone has their own ideas on what the categories should be. Someone has to moderate otherwise it would be a total mess. Even things like stamps, which have pretty defined categorisation, cannot be agreed on by stamp sellers.
