Good news for flag makers (if there are any left in the UK) if Scotland takes independence, as we will need as new Union flag. Think of all those flags around the world that will need replacing.

Soooooo, when does it all go down? Wish we heard more about it here, but the news channels are too busy with BS to keep anyone informed about things of importance.

Best wishes for many sales to all,

I do wish the pro faction would go for total independence - rather than trying to cherry-pick what they want to retain from the union.

Problem is they might not get what they want. Keeping the pound looks like it will not be as easy as they would like, and even if they could find a way it might leave them tied in to an exchange and interest rate that suits the UK rather than Scotland. And you only have to look at Southern Europe to see the problems that can cause.

Yes they cant have their cake and eat it.

This is part of what the govenor of The Bank Of England said.

"In short, a durable, successful currency union requires some ceding of national sovereignty."

Yet someone from the pro camp being interviewed about Carney's speech denied he had said anything about that - until the interviewer quoted it from the speech.

From what he then went on to say it seems like what he wanted was full devolution and not independence. I don't think they do know what they want. Independence sounds nice to them, but I think they have an overly simplistic view on what's involved in the unravelling of a 300+ year union.

Actually, I watched the full speech and what he said was yes like all currency unions, there can be risks, unless the correct procedures are agreed and then in place. however there is no reason it cant be done,

Your are assuming the English want a currency union with an independant foreign country.
