8 months to go. So, that means the vote comes in September?

I do hope it makes the news over here, I get sick and tired of the BS that passes for news, (especially on Fox), would like to see some real news for a change. No wonder I'm hooked on NPR...

Best wishes for many sales to all,

Well I hope it is a yes vote. As what follows will be interesting to watch whichever way Scotland's future unfolds.

I just maintain my previous caveats, that the split from the union is total and that there is no way back if it turns out to be a big mistake.

Ok, next hypothetical - what if - question for those who know these things...

September 2014 - Scotland votes yes in the independence referendum.

Between then and March 24th, 2016 (Independence Day), due to a series of unforeseen by-elections the SNP loses it's outright majority in Holyrood and becomes a minority Scottish government.

Could the other parties, perhaps under pressure from their Westminster leaders say "We know that you voted for independence in the referendum, but you're not having it"?

No because both sides signed up to the Edinburgh agreement which states both sides will respect and follow through the outcome of the refurendum.

The whole issue would be a lot simpler if we could saw through Scotland at the border and float it off into the North Sea.

It would be just as easy to saw off London and the South East andperhaps just as beneficial to the rest if the UK.

No. We'll make a fortune by selling the spanners and tyre levers we used to wrest the money from the Scot's tight fists.
