Ok, next hypothetical - what if - question for those who know these things...
September 2014 - Scotland votes yes in the independence referendum.
Between then and March 24th, 2016 (Independence Day), due to a series of unforeseen by-elections the SNP loses it's outright majority in Holyrood and becomes a minority Scottish government.
Could the other parties, perhaps under pressure from their Westminster leaders say "We know that you voted for independence in the referendum, but you're not having it"?
