Interesting idea, but the flimsy ones disintegrate in a pretty short period of time.

    - and they don't make them like they used to!

Well, I accumalated many many 1000s over 20 years ago and left them out-of-sight/mind in an in-law's loft. So now the in-laws want shot because they are doing home improvements!

Before the recession I saw some old and interesting carrier bags go for quite high prices on the other side but I don't know what the market is like now ? Worth a try though, you never know what people are looking for and it will boost the listing numbers !

i was led to believe that there is a market for these things .....apparently film and tv production companies are often on the lookout for these kind of things...recently i came across a rather nice British Home Stores carrier from the 1970s out of my loft.....i had considered listing it....actually i think i now will, when i list more things.

Just looked on eBay and there are lots listed. Not many auctions with bids though, but there are some listed at quite high prices on there. Even if you could get £0.50 each I must have thrown a fortune away over the years, as for the wife she could probably retire if she had kept hers!

I just tried to research this, I have a load of old ones from before the time when they made them out of degradeable plastic. But on feebay I found 28,000 results for 'carrier bag', so I don't know where one would start looking for old collectable ones.

Do an advanced search for 'Collectable carrier bag' over there and tick the 'sold' box. There are still some that are going for a few pounds !
