Paypal update to eBid

I had a US customer buy an item, then follow the link to paypal, where he paid. But eBid never updated to show payment. After I sent a payment reminder the customer contacted me and said he had payed. I logged into my paypal account and found the payment. I thought the payment update would be automatic or must I keep checking my paypal? (not convenient). Or did I do something wrong when I added paypay as payment? Thanks for any/all advise.

Did you not get an email from paypal saying that a payment had been made?

This happened to me at the beginning of last week, but I did get a email from paypal or I would not have known.

My paypal payments don't show on my ASL either, but I do get email notifications from paypal and I then manually change the payment status.

I have had that happen a few times, and in my case ebid has been slow to update (three or four hours) on a couple of occaisions, and I have often not had emails from direct payments to Paypal from things sold privately, where the payment is there in my Paypal when I go to look, but I have not recieved a notification for.
So, I always double check my ebid

The paypal email goes to my boss, who doesn't always let me know. I was hoping that eBid would be updated a little more quickly, but you get what you pay for. I now check everything before I leap. Thanks.
