    Default Paypal Here

Paypal Here is a way of accepting credit and debit card payments on your android or IPhone.

Cost £99 for reader and 2.75% per transaction

It looks to me that in US it has been rolled out as a way of taking payment without the card physically present, but I cannot see that on the UK promos.

Has anyone else worked out whether Paypal Here could be useful for distance transactions on Ebid?

When I saw it, I thought it would be handy for anybody who did shows or fairs, to be able to take card payments.

We have Paypal Here and Izettle, two systems, just in case one decides to "crash & burn" at the most inappropriate moment.
Both readers cost £99, but the izettle has a cheaper transaction fee.

Yes, you can take payments over the phone or just with the details from the card.
My Daughter sells a phenominal amount of horse stuff on facebook, and on paypal here, customers provide: 16 digit number, cvv number, expiry date and post code.

Of course, paypal being paypal.........funds are held on a rolling basis......and ours currently has a balance of 2k!
izettle tips out into your bank account every month.

Of course, both reader gadgets are only as good as the 3G signal. We did a trade stand just last week where the phones were no use whatsoever........no signal.

You can use the paypal here app without the reader. So it may not be worth the expense.
Pls just give me a shout if you need any more info.

I hate thiefpal......but unfortunately they are a necessary evil.
I'm hoping that we can do some "creative accounting" at the financial year end.......cos it's money that we haven't actually got pmsl

We've had no problems with izettle (so far)........touching wood atm.

Is this the Post Office NFC contactless payment? Allegedly it is being rolled out in Post
offices near the Olympic Stadium according to PO promotion. I live 400yds from Olympic Village and it is not in my local post offices.

I use paypal here, can't believe they are charging you for the reader, here in the U.S the reader is free. Heck if I didnt want to wait for them to mail it to me I could have went to staples & bought it for $14.99 & they would credit me the money back to my acct.

I also use Square it has been out longer then paypal here. https://squareup.com/

Makes doing conventions easy for people who don't like to carry cash on them.
