Default Maximize store exposure and be competitive!

I did a few google shopping searches yesterday for my items.
Quite a few did not show up.

I checked my listings and found that I had not filled in the barcode box or the brand box.

    Time to edit:
So I wrote "exempt" in the isbn/barcode box and put the brand name in the brand box.

Today all of my listings have uploaded to google shopping.
Lots of them appear on the front page (searching with the absolute minimum info)
EG "Pyrex tally ho" brought up all my tally ho items either on front page or close too.

I then became more specific and entered "tally ho" cups & saucers.
Again I had a good placement for my item.

    Now for the interesting bit!

I noticed on the left hand side of the page a list of stores and their location.

I was there "Smashing glass" ebid. I expect this was because Ii had a number of items in that pattern.

I was also able (by being specific in my search) to check prices. I was beating the opposition by a country mile, and in some cases really undercharging!

I'll be doing this more often.

Another thing I noticed was that you really need a good pic.

I'm still not clear on this................if your store is exempt, do you still need to put EXEMPT in the bar code box of each item??

All I know is that these Items were not showing up until I filled in the boxes.

(Cornishmaid has mentioned filling in the exemption box before)

I'm not sure about my store being exempt though?

I thought that I had read somewhere that Google no longer exempt stores or users, each listing has to be exempted in it's own right.

    Someone else may know better.

    Just found this on google.

Enforcement of new Google Shopping Feed Specifications

For accounts that are currently exempted from requiring unique product identifiers, Google Shopping will start enforcing these new requirements for unique product identifiers on July 15th, 2013 in the US, and September 16th, 2013 in all other target countries. Enforcement for all other accounts will start July 15th, 2013 for the US, France, Germany and the United Kingdom, and September 16th, 2013 for all other target countries. Non-compliant items might then be disapproved and disappear from Google Shopping.
Account level exemptions for unique product identifiers won’t be supported after the above mentioned dates – the 'identifier exists' attribute should be used instead.

That could explain how quiet I've been.

Hopefully things will improve as I am making it my goal to cut the oppositions throat! GRRRrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

I haven't, my stores were 'exempt' before the changes and I read somewhere from the boyz that existing exempt stores wouldn't need to add it - my items are showing fine

Thanks Sucadot, my vintage jewelry store was/is exempt as well and I'd hate to have to go edit every listing, lazy little person that I am.

Best wishes for many sales to all,

eBid were adding the newly required data for items that were previously covered by an exemption, I don't know if they are still doing so; a couple of recent posts could indicate that they are not (only eBid can answer that).

It would make sense not to rely on eBid to keep covering your backs and get your listings compliant.
