Isn't there a limit on the number of times he can regenerate? I seem to recall it being mentioned sometime.

His wife, River Song was wearing poisonous lipstick when she kissed him.
No antidote and he couldn't rejuvenate
As River was conceived in the Tardis she was able to rejuvenate.
So when the doctor was on his death bed (steps actually)
She gave him all of her rejuvenation powers to save him, allowing him to rejuvenate for the rest of our life times.
