I am sure that eBid is findable, as somehow I seemed to find them more than 5 years ago. Do not even remember how I found them, but it was probably through a search. What we really need is more "buyers" finding eBid; finding eBid and buying on eBid; coming to eBid first with the specific intent to buy.

Not sure what to say, but I believe it is more complicated than buyers finding eBid, and then deciding to actually bid or buy. Ran across a listing for low start and no reserve. Only 3 people would bid on the item. I was one of the 3 and I won the bid. Now I will have to wait and see if the seller plans to send what I won.

This is what aggravates me the most. I can hardly believe that only 3 people saw that listing. This happens too often on eBid.........why! Then the seller (usually a newbie), often does not send the won item, cancels the sale, etc. As far as I am concerned, there are plenty of buyers on eBid. Find me one seller who does not buy something somewhere. Many just do not seem to buy here. I can understand some of the reasons.........but there must be something to buy. And I know that some are making sales, but not enough sales here in general.

For example, I had a gold coin listed here for a start bid of $ 0.99, and it did not receive 1 bid. Yes it had a reserve price. Put the same coin on another site with a reserve and it received bids. I tire of the comments about listings with a reserve price here, as it does not seem to cause an issue on other sites.

Have not isolated the actual "cause" of slow sales, but I am convinced it has more than to do with low traffic, not enough buyers, etc.

I am new to eBid and if I sold an item it would be sent off to the buyer as soon as cleared funds are received. Please don't tar all "Newbies" with the same brush.
I am not one of the big listers on here,I only have about 100 listing but I paid my £50 for seller plus. I list using keywords, good scans, good descriptions and, more importantly, good prices. I can hardly get people to look never mind buy.

I would list more and more but it is disheartening to see Auction Reposted time and time again. By comparison I made 12 sales over the weekend on the bay with very similar items and at HIGHER prices.

I will stick with eBid but I sometimes feel that I flogging a dead horse

One current issue affecting sales is a problem on Google Shopping. A large number, and probably all sellers on eBid are not getting the full exposure they should be getting, and at times are getting no exposure at all. My own visitor numbers are down 40% since this issue arose. Hopefully people will get more sales when this issue is resolved.

no wonder sellers like yourself are having a hard time selling your competing against your self as you say listing very similar items on two web sites which also does not give a potentional new buyer to ebid any incentive to sign up

Not painting all newbies with the same brush. Just have seen too many newbies leave instead of take the loss, or get scratched off by eBid after getting negged. BTW: I offerred the seller the option to cancel the sale if they choose, because quite frankly I'm tired of seeing this happen. I also would honor the sale if it were me, but everyone does not operate the same. Who knows, maybe the seller will decide to honor the sale. I sure hope so.

Agree totally. I desire to list more, but the motivation does not seem to be there now. Am hoping for a motivational push though, as I do think that listing more does encourage sales, but motivation can not be forced. I have the lifetime membership, so I still have time to get motivated, without the expense. Hopefully this Google Shopping issue will be addressed soon. It along with other factors may help the sales of a broader base of sellers here.

i partly agree placing in froogle for me was very low last week as i mentioned on this very forum the next day i was back on page one in froogle searches with 3 high results i did not bring in a flurry of sales

what is also true for this month is sales are low in the summer weve had the best 3 weeks of weather for 3 years people are out and about not stuck on there comps i watch many cats on many sites traffic/and sales are down in this period i dont find it strange in anyway

You seem to miss the point. Similar items not the same items. All of my items on the bay start at 99p and I sell most of them Here I have items as low as 1p just as an experiment, still no ebid sales and even worse very few views. I know that we are in the "summer" dip at the moment, will see what September onwards brings
