    Default Duplicates Allowed?

While re-listing some lots this week I got muddled and ended up with some duplicated lots - which I didn't think it was possible - and certainly not desirable as I only have one of each to sell.

    example: http://uk.ebid.net/for-sale/the-chur...-107170921.htm
    - and - http://uk.ebid.net/for-sale/the-chur...-107123787.htm

    - both same item - whoops!

I did wonder at the time if they were checked or not - just as well I checked....

It's certainly possible to list duplicate items - even though it is against 'da roolz'. They will usually be spotted (the title seems to be the main trigger) and removed though. The system doesn't know they are a duplicate until after they are posted - though I suppose a check could be carried out on submission (which would be better) rather than after.

Yes that's usually the case with same titles - certainly so when listing for first time.

These two were re-listed on the 28th and the 30th May - time enough to be picked up and verified?

As you say, better to be picked up straight away like when original listing

They did put on a new feature a couple of weeks ago where it tells you the item has been relisted just under the repost button. It is in very very tiny letters though so you might have missed it and I don't suppose that is much use if you just use the tick boxes for relisting.

It is useful for me though as I like to space my listings out with the timer so they don't all end at the same time. I don't use the tick box and use the proper repost button so I spot the message if I am about to make an error with reposting twice.

So wouldn't it be a good idea to close one?

On the other hand i hardly think that the sky is about to come falling down due to such a minor oversight.

Disappointed with what?.....that they have obtained more than one?, i've mistakenly created duplicate listings, when i have more than one of the same item to list, and the world hasn't ended.

I think you are missing the point.

It is an unused old postcard with water stains on the back.

If there were 2 for sale they would not be in exactly the same condition.

We are talking about quality as seen from a collectors view point.

That's true, but the OP only had 1 item available.
