I was only casually browsing this thread and to be honest i hadn't noticed that the op had been a member since 2008, until this was pointed out, so ....it has taken 5 years for them to realise that this site can indeed be used as a buying and selling medium.
By contrast it took me a minute or so within signing up to ebid to realise that this was a viable buying channel and "only" 3 years from this date (2009) to finally understand that Ebid could be a selling venue for me.
I often feel that i am slow on the uptake sometimes.
What i'm attempting to point out is that for reasons i still cannot fully explain Ebid never seems to be at the front of anyone's mind....why?....is ebay's online manipulation really so powerful to convince people that they are the only site?
I lose count of the times that i explain to anyone who will listen that there is a great selling alternative (as long as you list correctly) to Ebay to be met with blank looks and a request to repeat the name of this site.
Interestingly....i'm not too sure whether Ebid is going to be the "auction" site of the future as Ebid themselves have only recently changed the name of the "after auction log" to "after sale log", so, to reflect the way that the site operates.
I really hope that eventually real bidding auctions may become a reality over here....but i won't hold my breath as i believe that many of my sales are the result of the impatient carrying out a "Google search" due to not wanting to wait for ebay auctions to end ....in fact i have done this my self.
Still...sales are taking off here.
