I agree that there should be a hand crafted section. Hand made sounds 'mumsy', old fashioned and not very professional imho. Artisan in the jewellery section is a lovely word, but I wonder how many people browsing would know it meant 'skilled', mainly as in hand crafted? There are far fewer items come up if you type 'hand crafted' into the search engine, than 'hand made', and personally when I am looking for a special item I do not tend to look for hand made.
BTW... my shops are inactive right now.....

[QUOTE=jeweleffects;1531072]Great idea as I have many handcrafted items myself, perhaps something like:

    Handcrafted Items
    handcrafted items: greetings cards
    handcrafted items: knitted goods
    handcrafted items: crochet goods
    handcrafted items: jewelry

I agree with all of the suggestions in this thread but maybe we should make the request more specific. Jewels started it but there are more cats we should list.

    Handcrafted>needlework
    Handcrafted>embroidery
    Handcrafted>quilting
    Handcrafted>woodworking
    Handcrafted>home decor
    Handcrafted>pillows

Feel free to copy this and add more (or delete duplicates). Linda

I have some hand-made cards that I'm listing under 2 categories, as the 'Crafts' category on its own seems inadequate. I've also got them under 'Occasions' - Birthday Cards, which is the most logical place to look if you want to buy a card. It's only an extra 5p to list under another heading, but I've got loads of cards to add to my store, so those 5ps will add up. I also have other hand-made items to list soon, so a 'hand-made' category would be good.

Welcome, lakeleilani. I wouldn't advise spending even those 5ps! Promote your shops (I see you have already opened two) rather than individual listings.
    Madelaine

    My Postcard Shop
    BK Stamps for Philatelic listings
    & Yarnalong for craft patterns
