I had no idea who to choose but visited a local group of volunteers today as I support a neighbour who is looking for volunteer work.

The Give Gain and Grow Group currently meet up weekly on Wednesdays and have their planning meeting once a month on Fridays.

All volunteers have either mental health issues or physical limitations (or both) but that doesn't stop any of them getting out every week to volunteer on local community projects.

The activities they are busy with include, litter picking, cleaning beaches and waterways and lots of regular fundraising events around the year. Some of the volunteers can only get out with a group because they are usually housebound a lot of the time and don't have their own transport so some of their funding goes on transport costs, protective clothes, litter picking equipment and refreshments for when they meet up socially and for their planning meetings.

I was so impressed with what I saw today...that I have now joined the volunteers...I knew there was a reason why I should have stayed in bed this morning
