Thread: $10,353,011,489 gross listing value

  1. #1

    Default $10,353,011,489 gross listing value

The number of listings may not be rising too much, but the value has shot up by $1,000,000,000 in the last day or so. Must be a lot of high value items or more sellers with large multiple quantities. Either way it is a good sign.

I was going to do, but thought looking on the main site page might be easier. I have just popped back to see if it has dropped by £22 after my earlier sale, but.......it has increased to......$11,122,603,202. That's over $800,000,000 in a day, listings are back over 5 million (5,022,114 live listings) which accounts for some of it.

Not sure what is happening, but I like it whatever it is.

    Well….I like to see this scenario: 5 Millions…and after week or two…7 Millions…after that 11 Millions…after that 22 Millions….go back on 19 Millions….but after that 28 Millions….and again up on 38 Millions….up again 55 Millions….go back on 43 Millions….but go up again on 67 Millions…go up 72 Millions…go up 89 Millions….go back again on 78 Millions…and after that go up again on 98 Millions….and go up again on 112 Millions…go back down on 101 Millions….go up again on 134 Millions…go up 150 Millions…go up 165 Millions…go back again on 155 Millions…but go up again 171 Millions…go up 179 Millions…go up 188 Millions…go back down on 180 Millions…go back up again on 195 Millions…and so and so on and so on…and all that in period of only couple years…
If this is possible….o yea it is possible…....

It means nada.. nothing more in your pockets. Been around online auctions for 17 Years... Item Value/s mean nothing, sales mean something.

    Wrong

Of course more listings and higher value mean something.
    It is positive for ebid..

More listings means that more people think ebid is worth the time and effort to list on (in general)

But of course we all know that sales is what really counts.

But without listings you can't have sales.

So…’’babe’’ what did you think are we moving up or…?
As I know I am here more of 4 years and in that time total listed items bouncing between 2, 5 Million to I think more of 6 Million…and all the time going between that numbers I mean in some time going down and after that go up and go down and go up…
So…what did you think what is real reason for that…?

Like example if we go down with that numbers this mean many seller’s sell own stuff and in some time we go up and that mean some of that seller’s list new items and top of that new seller’s come with new items and our numbers go up…
    Or….
Our total listing numbers of items go down because some of seller’s run out own auction with ‘’repeat’’ feature and after some time that same items listed again an we go up…and in same time some of seller’s sell items too before repeat feature run out…but keep in mind listed numbers of total items time to time go down from 500,000 to 1 Million and go back again in almost same numbers…

I think either one ‘’examples’’ is not correct a 100% but what did you think which one is closer to 100%...?

    In March so far

Sold 50 items on charity id

    Sold 47 on my id

    Not huge value but sales

But listing value does matter - the more there is listed the more chance that a visitor will find what they want to buy.

No-one can buy what is not listed.
    Madelaine

4 shops for Cats Protection & Prospect Hospice
    My Postcard Shop
    BK Stamps for Philatelic listings
    & Yarnalong for craft patterns
    and
Lotzabitz -anything that doesn't belong in one of the other shops.
