So Do Social Network Sites Help Your Business?

HI everyone. I am thinking of taking the plunge and jumping onto a social networking site with my business id..
I have no experiece with social networking.
Is it worth it?
Does it help drive commerce to your site?

Any help, guidance, etc would be very welcome.

Not sure about sales as I haven't tried to track buyer traffic, but I do know whenever I tweet a listing on Twitter it gets many more views than it otherwise would and IMHO all it takes is one view by the right buyer, so I'd say go for it.

It can't hurt. I really only tweet items during YDC - and usually other people's items, at that. Don't use facebook for selling at all, just personal, so can't help there. Go for it!

Well just about everyone that offers help on how to sell on ebid says you have to promote your own items.

So it must help ?

But then you need to get people to watch your social networking!

Millions of people are using Pinterest and Facecbook and Twitter.

I think a lot depends on what you are selling.

I use both Twitter and Pinterest, and it has helped my on line sales by leaps and bounds.
