Thread: Ebid App

From my point of view I do not care if sellers are big or small. As long as the sellers are providing the service so that eBid does not get a bad reputation, and as long as ALL sellers are treated equally and fairly by eBid.

Its a point of veiw I share and I think it was the point of veiw Pierre had when he set up the bay but just look at it now it more like a online high street with loads of focus on the high street brands rather then the avarage joe.

the type of sellers that Ebid are attracting are by default the sellers who dabble in mixed collectibles.......this is no bad thing as the other site is doing their best to drive these to extinction.
I'd like to see more take the opportunity to list their items here as well as on the other site, after all what is there to lose by doing this.?

I think ebay wanted to get rid of the small sellers as they were costing them money to administer etc.

Have ebid said what sort of sellers they want ?
I think feebay would like everyone to belive that the little guy cost them money but it is more likely that the big guys offered them more money to get rid of the compertion.

Being realistic....most sellers....especially those who are new to Ebid, will need to list their items across more than one site. Many will not want to risk tying up everything in Ebid, i personally have some items listed on this site and the other site at the same time, of course the Ebid prices are far more attractive due to not being pushed into using "free" postage, and as we all know Ebid's great value for money final value fees allow the saving that i make in this area to be passed on to the buyer.
If the item sells elsewhere then all well and good, but the buyer will end paying more.

I do this too have comics listed on several sites but try not to list exactly the same item on all the site you just end up competing with yourself in searches out side of the sites own search.

Here is my reasoning....i would like and much prefer to sell all of my items on this site, not Ebay or Amazon, but Ebid. When the listings that i have appear in Google search and show Ebay and amazon as well as Ebid, it will be seen by any prospective buyer that the Ebid price is the best, at least where i can achieve this.

There are one or two reasons why i prefer to sell with Ebid compred to the other sites that i mention and the main one is that Ebid leave me alone to carry out my sales without imposing any draconian terms and conditions, in fact it has little to do with the lower fee structure found here as i can use the lower fees as a means of offering better deals here.

if you list the same item on multiple sites then it could pay to use different keywords in your titles. That way you can hit more search terms and a different set of potential buyers on each site.

That is a very good point.
Ebid should pu tits fee sup to say 5%
And then market the hell out of the fact that it does not have draconian rules and that all items get a fair view in search.
That is why I joined ebid (not for the 2% fees)
