No it is not necessarily the same

A mobile version of the site a special view for people looking at the site on a mobile device but through their devices web browser. So on an iphone, if you use Safari, you will see the same version of the site as if you are on your computer using Internet Explorer - a mobile version would look different and easy to navigate using a mobile. Anyone with a mobile device would see that version (or usually have an option to see the full version also)

Where as an app only people who have bought the app will see that version of the site

    Hope that makes sense

Not really. There comes a point where the site 'as isī becomes unusable on a device below a certain size. It it just usable on a tablet (with some faffing about), but I wouldn't like to try using it on a mobile phone. That's where I see the app come into its own - designed for a small user interface.

    Hi,

thanks Ron for answering the question for me
true some mobile versions of certain sites are a pain to use, on phones with small screens, but if they are designed correctly they work well.

but have you seen the size of the Samsung Galaxy S4, phones are getting bigger again

That is why you have a mobile version precisely because the standard site is unusable on the small screens. So what happens is, when you go to a site on your mobile phone, the site knows you are on a mobile device and instead of showing you the standard version it shows you a much simpler version of the site specially designed to be seen on a small screen

As Graphskill says a mobile site is just a simpler small version of the site. Most often of the whole site.

An app contains only the important parts of the selling/buying process with as much as possible done in the app before uploading it online to the site. This makes for a much faster & cheaper operation for the phone user

I am, actually, surprised eBid have not got a mobile site already. Even most really small online sellers have had these for sometime.

Cant remember what Ranch & Moon stand for. Much prefer you using the right names so I don't have to tax my brain
