    Default WW2 Radios

One of my hobbies is collecting and bringing back to life radios and transmitters from the WW2 era. I would like to hear from anyone who does similar things how they have managed to refinnish the black crackel on front panels of radios like the AR88D and R1155 please. Hamerite type paints do not seem to look anything like the original finish to me. What do you use?

What an interesting hobby!! Are you wanting the front panel to BE black crackel, or to get rid of the crackel and have a smooth shiney or matt finish?
    Ta-Ta for now!
