Default The start of the new year - how does your garden look

I hope everyone had a good christmas and new year.

We had a busy one, with two children (3yrs old and 12 weeks), early morning and a late night.lol

Whilst counting down for santa, we were also sowing our seeds ready for this year.

Our plants all grow in plugs - lavenders, veg's, bedding etc etc. which are ready for preorder now

If anyone needs and advise on what they should do in the garden, or what to use etc. we will be welcome to answer questions here for you.

We have some cheap plug plants at 10p each if anyone is interested.

Weather : we are meant to be having a cold snap now - so make sure your bay trees etc are well covered up.

I bet you had a wonderful Christmas with the little ones!! It's fun to see all the excitement and smiles!

Welcome to eBid. I see you already have a plug thread going..........good for you!! You are allowed to post one plug per 24 hours....this keeps the site from getting inundated by any one seller's plugs. Other threads, like this, are for general discussion on the topic of the thread, not for plugging (hee hee) your plugs!!

If you take a look through Astral's thread that is up on the forum now, you will find lots of useful info. Also, click the help button at the top of any page, then look on the left for FAQ's and videos!! good luck!
    Ta-Ta for now!

Cant wait till growing time, for me maybe next week (Jan).
I finished up a cold frame I started last fall. In August I started some kohlrabi plants, in a 10 gal pot,
they went through all the cold snaps we had including some severe frosts.
Placed pot in the cold frame early DEC, and pot is a little frail looking, however still green
Dont mind the messy look of everything, in the summer there are beautiful vines of Kiwi, Wisteria, and Morning Glory's all around the garden...Fence is up to keep deer from destroying all, we have deer, bears, rabbits, coons, possums, skunks, etc....and we live just about in the middle of a town with 30,000 residents...
Today it went up to 68 degrees....Jan 13 and 68, unheard of...worked outside in a tee shirt...noticed round forms starting on kohlrabi... Name: cold frame for ebid.jpg

We have to have a better year than last year. We have a large veg patch - grown just for us. most of the stuff rotted due to so much water that couldnt get away. First year we have had to buy potatoes etc for christmas!!

I wish everyone a great, sunny and warm spring and summer (when the snow has gone)... its bad here in wales at the moment. but our 3 year old is loving it.

awww.....seeing kids and pets enjoy the snow is the best thing about winter........
We've had a few little snizzles here in S Wales, (is Shropshire in Wales?) but the sun has come out once in awhile. Weather sounds like it will stay quite cold and iffy for the week.

I gave up on my garden last summer. With the elevation we live at, the rain, and the cool weather, we didn't even get one apple off any of the trees. Or plums. I gave up on annuals, and was glad I had some perennials who were hearty. I do hope there is less rain this year. The butterflies and bees would really be hard hit with another summer like last.
