Perhaps just the way back which, if I remember correctly, is free?

It's only free from Portsmouth to Gosport if no-one sees me get on the ferry. I always paid at the Gosport side and bought a 2 way ticket. There is a ticket machine on the Portsmouth side but have never tried the experiment of attempting to board the ferry on that side without a ticket

I knew it wasn't free from Portsmouth to Gosport.. it's the other way but I was obviously wrong about that as well.

I've been using that ferry since the 60s and there was a time when you could get a lift by car from Gosport to Portsmouth then hop on the ferry for a free trip home. I don't know when that changed but when I was coming home from Eastbourne after visiting Billy in hospital in 2013, there was definitely a ticket machine on the Portsmouth side.

Wow, that looks amazing MoonWitch! I tried crochet years ago, and I managed to crochet tubes rather than flat squares, I guess my tension was all wrong or something, so I've always been a knitter. It's lovely to see crochet and hand knitting still being done, so many things these days are mass produced.

OH, and we had our first sale yesterday evening - chuffed!!
