I most likely didn't notice this because I wasn't entering a competition.
I always read terms and conditions of competitions as my business ran prize draws once a month for years so I needed to be up to date with all the regulations.

So far as the YDC is concerned I have never noticed the competition element so I guess that info was never important enough to me to remember.
