Cool Quick question for a new member.

Hello forums, and it's lovely cast of members, obviously I am new.

Just a question, how well and often do you sell? I am wondering if I should pay the fees to be a seller as well on this site.

    Thanks for your responses.

Depends Some people can't stop selling and others slowly. I being one of the later ones but my items tend to be Mid price (£5-£100). I always tell people Don't expect stuff to fly out BUT think about all that money you SAVE on re-listing fee's (Assuming your from the dark side)

    Welcome to eBid.

There are daily sales on eBid and if you are selling what a buyer wants then I'm sure you can sell to. Only you can decide whether to pay a one-off fee for lifetime membership with low fvf's if gallery pics are used (up to 5 pics with no extra charges) and 5 shops with no limit to the amount you list - as long as it's legal and you abide by the eBid selling rules.

IMO I would say the majority of lifetime members have never regretted paying the one-time fee.

    Good luck.

How anyone else succeeds (or fails) on eBid is no indication of how you will do, so knowing that will not answer the second part of your question.

    Success depends on many things:

    • What you are selling.
    • The demand for those items.
    • How big a fish you are in the pond.
    • You competitiveness as regards to price.
    • Your listing style.
    • Your ability to promote yourself.
    • Your Google presence.
    • And many, many more.

Really, the decision regards to account type comes down to simple economics. Have a read of this and see if it helps: http://mootango.webspace.virginmedia...idkb.htm#a0004

RATS!! I've been paying with money; I wasn't aware you could pay with peanuts. Think I have a bag left over from last winter that the birds turned their beaks up at.

Rednosty - Thank you for the honest opinion, and that is a positive attitude to look at it. As I am new, I do not understand who or what the dark side is, I am sure I will pick it up sooner rather than later.

Gill - Thank you for the lovely warm welcome. You do bring up some excellent points, and if the majority of the members do not regret their actions, then it is swaying me towards conforming. I understand I will have to do my research but I thought getting feedback from the people who want this site to thrive would be useful and essential to my specific research. Do not worry as I will not create any problems for members or the site, as this is strictly professional for myself.

Astral276 - I asked the second question simply because you are the people who want this site to thrive, so it is likely that the majority of you will have a finger in every pie. Personal anecdotes are essential in certain research. Meaning the majority of the forum members will know what sells, who is thriving on this site in sales and what the buyers on this site are willing to buy. If the regulars are not selling well, and only stick around due to friends or familiarity of the site, not saying ebid is, I have no experience of ebid yet, then I doubt a new seller would thrive here. Forgive me for doing research on my resources before making the commitment.

I understand what is deemed successful and the definition of success, but thank you for your effort never the less. When I say I am a new to this site, it does not mean I am a new seller, I am just looking at other opportunities. I appreciate your help and the link however.

Thank you for the advice, you have been wonderful so quickly. Expect me to be sticking around. Good day.

I would not pay anything until...
    1. List an item that you believe has a great chance at selling.
    2. See how it goes and IF it sells.
    3. Then determine if you want to PAY to list on this site.

I have been quite disappointed myself. I payed the FEE upfront WITHOUT looking into eBid and how they work.
I have listed 10 items and NONE have sold. I have them listed as "until sold". It's been 4 months now and counting.
Not much buying going on period. Just look at the categories and see.
Hope this info helps you out

Jttrujillo - This is exactly what I wanted and the feedback I need. Thank you so much. I have also noticed you are new to the forums, but obviously not the site over all. I think you understand that if I pay the fee, will I get the fee back (in profits) and how quickly? I do not wish to invest effort, time and money in to something that I will not receive anything back from.

Well I am not trying to upset anybody

    But

This is totally the opposite approach to what is required to be successful on the eBid platform.
