"Brand" dissappearing on closed auctions.

Some additional info to #7.

All my items that had brand names entered had them when I exported my listings on 13 Aug 2012. Now none have them. All brand info has been deleted. The items would have been auto-reposted - rather than manually.

Same here...that's when it seems to be occurring...during auto-relists...

Funny you should mention that Vonz, as I've experienced the same thing on occasion. If I have a relist to do and I want to change something or another, when I go in the brand was missing .... I have always thought that it was just me in forgetting to drop it in when originally listed, but now I'm not so sure....eeeeeegads! Now I'll go in and have a look on all relists...what a chore THAT will be!

Me too!!!! Thought I'd had a brainstorm or something. I was checking/changing a few items in my jewellery store the other day and noticed that the brands were missing - and I am absolutely POSITIVE they were on. One or two, then mea culpa - but not 20 or thereabouts!

Yep, I've got the same problem. Luckily I don't sell many branded goods but I just noticed the brand name was missing on a Zantos shirt I reposted.

A couple more that I haven't reposted yet are a Torba handbag item 68354168 and some Per Una Jeans item 71241015. There are others too !

Is it something to do with the 'item attributes' box that seems to have appeared right under the 'brand' box ? Would that have affected it in some way ?

Only in certain categories. Clothing is one - not sure of the others. It was promulgated in the Updates thread a bit back.

Whoops, I just cleaned up and closed all my lists so I don't have the previous ID numbers.

I do have one observation that may help the debugging.

If I open the listing and click on "Repost this Item", which I only do if I want to modify something, then when I click on the preview button I get a warning that the brand name is missing.

If I just click the "Repost?" box, there's no warning and it gets relisted still missing the brand name. Two examples from today #75796202 and #75796183.

Mine have been disappearing across a variety of categories for a number of weeks. I'm very diligent about adding brands when they have brands or are signed by an artist.

I've had this as well. For example: item in closed listings ready to relist today 68083728

Brand has disappeared.

Perfect, that's what we were after.

We've located the problem, it is to do with brands that won't be appearing in our auto-dropdown menu on the listing form.

We've put a fix in place so the brands should start appearing on your listings again from now.

On a side note some sellers are putting things like "CD", "VINYL", "BLU RAY" and other product types into the brand field, these are deleted and you will see an empty brand field when reposting.
