Thread: Question for postcard sellers

  1. #1

    Default Question for postcard sellers

Do you think that Canada should have categories for the provinces?

I know that I've got a lot more Canadian postcards to list.

On the other hand, then I'd just have a lot more listings to revise.

Well I see they are in your store so why not just use sub cat's like you are already doing.... I tend to think when it comes to postcards most buyers use the search engine and/or store cat's to narrow the listings down anyway

I think you are right, Nigel.

When I search for postcards I just type in keywords and don't use a category search. So if the seller doesn't have good keywords in their title then I never see their listings. For example, when I search for British postcards I generally start with the county. Then I'll look for the place.

If I'm searching a particular seller's listings, I would go to their store and search categories.

As deanosaur1972 has said before Its Keywords Keywords, and Keywords that count.

I only have very few postcards listed at the moment but the titles are in this sort of format.

Something I noticed when I started searching the UK postcard listings here.

Many listings did not seem to have the county. I think that it was because sellers were used to this being a more regional auction site, instead of global.

Yes, Deano has some good advice. :-)

Well, that's what I was wondering Her Maj, if it would be easier to do it now than later. If there is are more postcard sellers headed over here, then it would be set up.

    Thanks MPS16.

Off topic, but I have no idea how you do those screen shots. And I'd like to know. Maybe a topic for another thread. :-)

Postcard sellers, both longtime and newcomers, I'm bumping this up and hope that you give an opinion.

I think a lot of postcard sellers left out the county when the title was more restricted than it is now. Some of those listings will still be running - I know I have such listings running and I tend to put more effort into listing fresh items than into revising old ones.
