easier reclaiming of FVF after non-payer

After a non-paying bidder, I canceled the sale (sadly it wiped out the negative feedback I had left them, that is my one gripe) and checked my fees and invoices, and had immediately been credited back with my FVF. Which is great service!

Now if only the appropriate feedback could have remained as well.

I suppose you should not have cancelled the sale. As it was a non-paying bidder, you should have used the NPB procedure; then the feedback would have remained.

Cancelling a sale is for when both parties mutually agree not to proceed.

That's as may be. My point was that the use of the correct procedure would have worked as it should and as you wished regarding feedback. The use of the wrong procedure worked as it should but not as you wished regarding feedback.

Cancelling a sale means no transaction took place - therefore feedback is not applicable.

It should be, but at present it can be cancelled by only one party. It was pointed out on another thread that the system was flawed and both parties should have to agree before the sale is cancelled - a small change that would surely protect buyers and sellers.

The feedback issue was one of the issues (there were more, including the non-mutual cancellation issue) I raised in June concerning the Cancellation facility.

I wrote to Support at the time and received this reply which I posted on Forum:

Think that might be a typo darklis? If you have sent an invoice and two further payment reminders, 3 days after you sent the last, there is an option in the drop down menu to reclaim FVFs. And the neg you left for the non payer stays.

I wonder how many more Sellers are choosing to cancel (to get their fees back quick) rather than use the NPB process and have to wait?

And I wonder how many of us are being denied the protection that Negative feedback affords us?

And how many are there who are happy with the status quo?
