I'm not trying to spread any misinformation. I am an ebid cheerleader from way back.

I am just trying to bring to people's attention the ebid membership system works against it.

Why are you are seller + if you can list for free ?

Gazza has already stated (#53) that they are going to take a look at tightening things up. It is now in their hands.

Yes, I know what Gazza said. I've been following the thread from the beginning. But until Gazza 'states' what they intend to do....and they will have to tell us so we as sellers know what the procedure is.....I think this thread is very warranted.

Because I calculated that, over time, the benefits of being Seller+ Lifetime were worth the initial outlay.

Nobody has to to take that course though, they can list on this site for nothing if they wish. So how you can interpret a cost option as a joining fee still eludes me.

BTW... Beware. The self-appointed forum police have their batons out.

I still stand by my statement that the ebid membership and fee structure encourages new sellers to go with RUS and no gallery pics etc.

This then converts into poor sales for them and inactive sellers for ebid.

Back to the thread.

Not sure if it is connected, but over the last few months the number of stores in several categories has been falling, in clothes it is down by over 50 in the last few months. Could be that people are closing stores or not listing in them and they are dropping off after the 75 days, or it could be that they are being closed for them. I have followed the numbers for a while, and this seems to be a more recent occurrance.

I doubt if most people would bother to close a store on ebid, as their is no charge for it.

So they are probably being closed if there is nothing in them.
