New to ebid. 1 Major flaw that prevents me from selling here.

The basic seller is TOO basic. Not showing my image in the search function affects both buyers and sellers alike. I would be willing to pay more than 3% on final value fees if you were to implement these basic features on a basic account. a 2 or 3 standard picture option should be basic as well. I know it costs to host these images. But good pictures and multiple pictures help sell items and benefit both the buyer and seller. So if costs are the problem you need to raise the final value fee on basic members to get these much needed features that in my opinion harm the amount of sales.

Then don't advertise to everyone that it is free listing? It's deceptive if free listing doesn't include basic things. I suppose if I joined the site and it said 5 cent listings I wouldn't have made this post.

Okay maybe I was a little harsh. 5 cents is nothing. I didn't realize platinum listings gave you so much. I will list things, and really hope this site takes off like a rocket. The other site really is killing me on fees.

Only a thing which is left is very simple ‘’first you need to make sale’’…just to see how we have small fees...

Yes, I went for the seller lifetime and have been very happy with that choice. If you intend to use the site a lot for selling it really is the best option.

If you don't go for seller+, op, I predict that you will list a few things, pay for a few listings and then come back in a month or so complaining about lack of sales

But it IS free to list. It's just not free to list the way you'd like. That's not deceptive. Deceptive, I feel, is when, for example, my local supermarket says buy one, get the second one free. They should tell it like it is, a 50% bulk discount for quantity.

I get free listings on feeBay. But dammit, they're not free if I start my auction at more than 99p, and some of my items are likely to attract only one bid! Should I complain about this?

Anyhow, welcome to eBid! If you're just getting rid of unwanted items around the house, perhaps lack of a photo won't matter, give it a try. What do you have to lose?

And people in the forums are helpful (which I often find isn't the case on feeBay), plus the eBid support people are incomparably better than the 'droids on feeBay. Good luck.
