Best-selling Irish author Maeve Binchy has died aged 72 after a short illness.

Love her books - my Irish mother-in-law has a complete set and won't lend them out

I love Maeve Binchy's stories too. I have just this week finished "Echoes". Whenever I can get hold of a book by her I do. What a writer and story teller! RIP Maeve, and thank you for many hours of reading pleasure.

What a shame, 72 is no age these days, I bet she had lots more stories to tell . . . .
