Hopefully, the survivors & their communities will bounce back, as ours have done here in Victoria, since the worst fires in Oz history in 2009. (link details below)

Initially in these situations, what is needed are $'s & every little bit helps, & I congratulate all who took part in this YDC. Cheers!
My baby brother was a firefighter in 2009 when he was living in Melbourne.

We were all frightened for him as the rest of the family were thousands of miles away in England.

I want to thank the artist & especially Al adruml, for donating such an obvious personal & highly valued item towards a great cause.
I assure you it will be treasured by me & get pride of place in my home.

How terrible, it is horrendous to think what devastation these fires wreak, and it so makes you appreciate the brave firemen/women who risk their lives trying to save others.
As you say "I congratulate all who took part in this YDC. Cheers! - yes, cheers indeed!

Well done everyone ... let's have a toast!

You will be pleased to know that ebidders pulled together back in 2009 and we managed to raise over £500 to help the victims of the fires. http://www.ebid.net/forums/showthrea...lian+bush+fire

WOW cornish - I didn't know that. What a fantastic effort on ebid members part. Thanks to all involved at the time.

moonwitch - those guys 'n gals were the real heroes, many of them were volunteers from small bush brigades who worked non stop against terrible odds.

Naturally at the time, I did my part in helping $ wise, & contributed to an effort to send a semi-trailer load of pet and stock foods to the affected areas.

Once the surviving people were being cared for, there was a shortage of foods for the surviving animals in the fire regions.
These included stock & peoples pets. There was nothing left for the animals to graze on etc.
