I'm getting excited for the next YDC, too!! This is one of the great things about eBid...the community spirit when it comes to looking out for others, not just ourselves. GONGS!

Hello, my friends! Colorado is STILL HOT! The air, at least from Denver N to Wyoming is full of haze, making it hard to see the mountains. Apparently the haze is coming from a number of fires in the Pacific NW (usually meaning Washington state, Oregon). It doesn't smell smokey, but breathing the air, which I'm finding difficult not to do, tightens the throat and makes your nose drippy. This isn't as bad as it was, according to my daughter, when the High Park and Waldo fires were going. Seems there is a weather pattern which is carrying the smoke and then sharing it with CO (and other places). Hard to image the thousands of miles that fires affect.

Update on the fabulous donations to the last YDC......here is an email I just received:

Hi Linda! I just wanted to take a minute and personally thank you for all the hard work your team did to help make this wonderful donation possible. As Chris told you, there are many needs there and I noted that your group is specifically wanting to help children. Since we are in the “back-to-school” mode now, I know that some of the donation will be used to help provide school clothes and school supplies for those children.

In addition, winter is coming and the summer-wear clothes they received when the fires initially displaced them will need to be replaced by winter and school-appropriate clothing. So, while I cannot guarantee that all your gift will go directly to children’s items, I can tell you that currently that is one of the main directions we are heading for this time of year.

    Thank you again!
