At least now I know why so many new members list phone numbers, email addresses and links on their All About the Seller page. They read all the FAQs and help pages, follow all the instructions, and have no idea they are breaking some important rules unless they come to the forum and some kind person tells them.

I wonder how many new sellers got booted off and never knew why?

I totally agree. It is not fair for newcomers and this has to be resolved ASAP (IMHO)

if new commers read the TCs when they join up theres should not be a problem

the ones i have reported dont get booted off the links/directions are looked at by ebid and removed if they agree for example there a direct link to a e-commerce enabled site if they repeat offend i dont know ebids stance on that one i think there very fair with 1st offenders considering its all writen down in the TCs they sign up too and by doing so agree too.

Newcomers may or may not read the TCs but when or if they read the FAQ concerning About Me pages, this is what it says:


17) What is the My All About Me area for?

This is where you can upload your photo and information about yourself or your business or anything you want. These details will be shown on your "All About Me" page, buyers frequently view these pages to learn and to gain trust about the sellers they are buying from.

and this is what the newcomer goes by.

Not really, as there are no defined rules for About Me pages - so they can't be in contradiction.. The only 'rules' that seem to be being used are taken by users from rules laid down for other areas of the site, or what admin feel like.

Ignorance of the rules is no excuse, but ignorance of no rules likely is.

Okay. I agreed not to send spam from another site to attract potential customers to my eBid stores.

Okay. What use of eBid ("the service") is authorized and what use is unauthorized? Where do I find this information?

it says commercial use so that would be unathorized its really not that hard to understand links to e-commerce enabled sites are commercial

your interpretation is not relevant to the discussion it says " to your site hosted on or through the eBid system,"which means some one is linking to there e-commerce site via ebid so there using ebid as a 3rd party

if some dont read what there signing up too then break the rules what there signing up too there breaking there side of the contract thats there fault what ever way ebid treats them afterwards is there own making.

theres no conflicting rules anywere the about me page is about there business on ebid not anywere else if some wants to put in about there hobbies ect thats fair enough, its writen already they cant use ebid as a host for there own business elsewere in the TCs anywere on the site its really straight forward and clear
