A reminder about YDC and Social Networking

With two great YDCs coming up, the super YDC 99 nomination and our big YDC 100 celebration I thought it would be a good time to remind you all about YDC on social networks.

Facebook

On Facebook YDC has a page that you can like, and makes updates you can share, pictures are posted etc. The page is at http://www.facebook.com/YourDonationCounts?ref=tn_tnmn and you can all post ads and pictures to the page for your YDC stuff.

I'm also hoping we can occasionally get news of success stories and wotnot of what the YDC funding has achieved. Just some news updates from anybody YDC has supported would be great.

You'll also find a list there of many of the charities we've supported.

Twitter

YDC's Twitter profile is at http://twitter.com/#!/YDC_Fundraising and as Chief Twit I make occasional tweets about what's coming up, and promote random items in each month's auctions. I also retweet any tweets other YDCers make, as long as they include @YDC_Fundraising in the body of the tweet (not at the front, or only I see it!) Most months we only have a couple of eBidders making YDC tweets, so it would be great to bolster that this month!


On Twitter our tweets are sometimes picked up by the nominated charity and spread to their followers too - often thousands of people, so you might want to bear that in mind!

I do try to do a few each month, but I'm afraid I really can't take on promoting everybody's YDC auctions for them! I work on the theory that anybody who doesn't use social networking clearly doesn't get the value of it, so won't mind me not spending hours of my time putting *their* stuff on there, right?
