BIG problem here! My YDC auction was showing 3 days from the start of the 24th. I was told that it should be 4 days to the end so I went in to edit the listing. Each time I tried to drop in 4 instead of 3 this is what I keep getting:
================================================== ====================
On the preview page it has a start of the 24th of May and an END of 9th of May....WHAT???
Each time I go back in to fix the end to "4" days, do a preview listing, and go back in to fix yet again, the second screen shot shows the end at -14 days....WHAT?????
What on earth is wrong here???? HELP!!!
Okay, maybe I shouldn't abandoned the idea. I'm just not sure if it will raise enough $$$ to make it worthwhile. With the "Promote eBid" scenarion out of the picture I'm just not sure so I'll ask everyone's opinion. This is what I was going to do....
This was just going to be the YDC 99's designated charity's Logo made from one of my cymbals. I was going to list it in the YDC with the understanding the Logo cymbal as well as the money raised for it would be donated to the charity.
The cymbal would be in the shape of a Kite (tail and all) then mounted on a piece of Marble. On the bottom face of the Marble would have been...
Logo cymbal and cash donation contributed by

Engraved on a Brass plate adhered to the marble base.
Their Logo is a kite with tail
This is a good idea Al but....
IMO YDC auctions work only if they are under 99p, in your case $0.99, and I think this is because there just aren't enough bidders from around the world.
You also have to think of the postage costs,which I think would be quite high by using marble, so you may well lose out.

Okay this auction would be great BUT it would depend on you in the sense of:
Are you willing to take a loss for charity? Consider your time, materials used and purchased to make the plaque - which, would run into $$$ from what you say.
If you do this for YDC 99 what about YDC 100, 101 etc?
I'll put this another way Al. I donated all my gift stock to YDC and I'm making a loss on it BUT I am pleased to help the charity concerned no matter what. I just cannot afford to cover the postage and fee costs too, so you might want to take that into account as well.
With the UK's RM making a massive hike in postage costs, especially internationally, they are doing an injustice for Charity auctions.
