    Thumbs up Products & Prices!

    Hi Guys!

Could use some help with what product people would like to see on eBid (Sports related - either clothing, footwear or equiptment). I have lots to list but limited time so wanted to get the most important stuff up!

Also Pricewise anyone got any feedback on the prices I have set? Too high? Just about right?

Let Me Know What You Think!

    Cheers

We have a Make Offer option being added sometime this month. Could be useful for sellers who are not quite sure of their prices.

just had a look at your offerings, and looking pretty good. just a few things that you might find useful:

You have a lot of auctions on Run Until Sold (RUS), These will stay at the bottom of the listings. It is far better to run for 7-10 days with 10 auto reposts. Means that you have to relist every 70-100 days, but it does'nt take long and you will make more sales.

Some of your auctions have a start price of 1p. Great if you are prepared to let them go for that, but this is not yet eBay. Auctions do not always attract a high number of bids. Might be better to have a low start price, but one at which you are happy to sell at.

Might be worth setting up Google checkout. It never hurts to give customers a wide a choice of payments as possible.

Set up stores. I see you are a seller+, so you can set up 5 for free. This will make it easier for buyers to find what they want. If you do set up stores, put the link onto your signature, people might click through from these forums.

Your descriptions, images and titles look fine, and your prices seem OK. As for what sells best, that varies. But I would go for the brands first. Most of my sales come through Google, and people are more likely to search for a brand.

It will be good to have another serious seller in clothing, especially with some good sportswear. I have plenty listed myself and the important thing at the moment is giving buyers a good choice, price and service. That way they will come back look around and buy off others on here (me with luck). I look forward to seeing your name up on the first page on Clothes, Shoes & Accessories. I would rather see more sellers like yourself up there rather than T-shirt printers, no offence to T-Shirt printers, it's just that when people are looking for the type of item I sell, I want them to find it on here, that way they will come back.

Anyway, hope that helps, and all the best on here, just be patient, you will sell if you put the effort in, just flogged a pair of Avia toning trainers myself half an hour ago.

I only offered Google because a buyer had a bad experience with Paypal, over 10% of sales are now paid using Google. Not sure if I would have lost any by not offering it, but as long as I get the money i'm not bothered if they pay me in magic beans!

Thanks for the advice guys Some great points!

It appears I made a bit of an error with the run until solds and will look at changing them as everyone is telling me to go for the 7-10 option instead

The 1p auctions were a marketing technique to try and create interest - there is a reserve to avoid the sale costing me but they are stell able to sell at a bargain price too. Maybe not a good eBid stratergy thou

I like the idea of google checkout - is it free to use and commision on sales like paypal or are there set fees? How do the fees compare to paypal?

I agree with the stores plan too - I intend to split the sports into seperate stores to focus on particular areas (specialist / general) but I was intending on building listings and increasing my offer in the main store before i did that.

I agree It would be great to have more and more sellers on eBid to create a destination for more buyers - Im comitted to giving it a real push and hopefully will start to see some sales soon. Time is a major issue for me as I have to spend time on other sales channels but I can see a good future on eBid its just finding the time to build the project i guess. Online marketing is also new to me so I have lots to learn which also slows things down somewhat

I will deffo look at adding make an offer to all listings when avaliable as I really like that

I do golf clothing and accessorires Bruce, not so much golf equipment - will get some listed

    Cheers

I think it is identical fees to Paypal, which is surely a coincidence and nothing trading standards or monopolies should look into!. You do however have a 60 day period where they do not send money until 10 days after you charge the customer. Speaking of which, the money is not taken from the customer until you 'charge' them, but you can alter that to automatic in the settings. The other thing with Google is it does not show up as paid all the time in eBid, it might just be for the 60 day period though, as some sellers on here have no problems.
