LOL! Happy Twofer everyone!
Cheers,
Ooh, gorgeous Cheaver! What kind of butterfly or moth is it?
Link to the red tailed hawk cam at Cornell in case anyone wants to watch, two hawklets have hatched and the third is expected soon:

Cheers,
Great capture Ms. Penguin!
Filled the bird feeders and put out some different suet. Supposed to attract all kinds of different birds so I'm hoping to get some variety of birds in the yard this year. So far like previous years we are just getting Sparrows, Robins, Black birds and the occasional Cardinal. The feeders are close enough to the deck door so if I see anything colorful I can get pictures before scaring them off.
Maybe with all the perennials coming back this year we can attract some butterflies but all I have seen in the past 15 years are the solid color white ones. I'm getting more color from the fire then from wildlife!
Al, I think we are talking about different things - yours is a plate, mine is a bridge.Right now I have a partial plate. It has/had 6 teeth on it and is attached to surrounding teeth. The dentist took the impression, had the plate made then pulled the teeth. He immediately put the plate in and told me not to take it out for a week.
Seems strange if they pull a few teeth then let the remaining teeth sit for a few months won't the teeth move before the bridge or plate is made?
I cannot remove mine at all, as it is pushed up into my gum, and is fixed onto the two adjoining teeth - which had to be filed to a point and then the bridge was pushed up and cemented onto them and into my gum.
I once had to have the bridge knocked out of place, as I had toothache in one of the 'support' teeth. The dentist got a small hammer and chisel and knocked away until the bridge was dislodged - it was a dreadful experience. I thought he was chiselling his way through my nose and skull ...lol!
Yuk - enough already of teeth talk - let's change the subject tout suite!
Marvelous pic of the Butterfly cheaver, you sure know how to work that fab camera! I haven't spotted a butterfly yet, but we have several bees, and other flying insects and many birds which I love to watch.
I'm delighted to say that we have Song Thrushes (rare) nesting in our wild hedge.I hope and pray that cats don't get to them, they are disappearing fast from our hedgerows. Blackbirds and Robins also serenade me with their song, I just love to sit outdoors watching and listening.
Happy twofer everyone - does anyone have any good tunes to listen to?
Here's my twofer, rather more mellow than my usual hard rock choices
I'm really fond of this at the moment, such a beautiful lady with a beautiful voice.

For anyone wanting to attract butterflies, especially Red Admirals and peacocks, this is the plant for you -
Hedera hibernica ( Irish ivy)
Every late summer/autumn this shrub which grows wild in the hedge at the bottom of our garden is absolutely smothered with butterflies. If anyone wants a cutting I will gladly send one to you!
