Hi all
I am back from the grand family wedding and staying with my Dad.
It was mixed. Unfortunately my Dad has got much worse than when I last saw him some months ago now.
He struggled to even remember me.
I do wonder if he would be better off in the sort of place Trish's Mum is in as she has clearly blossomed from being in an enviroment that helps her to feel happy and relaxed.
This unfortunately is not the case with my Dad who gets and feels picked on a lot. He says things like "I can never do anything right" and "Oh I might have known it was my fault again" but things are more complex too. It is so hard to witness this dreadful disease and just a worsening situation for all involved. Very sad. I really did try to make the most out of it and have some treasured memories but it is too distressing most of the time.
I think the last time I saw him when I also had time alone with him was the time that I shall treasure. He WAS happier then and more relaxed too, we spent some real quality time then.
The wedding was of his grandaughter (who he has almost mostly forgotten, though she lives very close, but they never see each other either) I think he was pretty lost in most of it but anyway here are some pictures of that day and some of the legacy today of what HE started many years ago
my niece with her 2 grandfathers (my Dad on the left)
my brother (who now runs the business my Dad started) and his daughter
my niece, her new husband and bridesmaids
A few examples of the fine work my brother deals in.
All used as wedding cars on the day

For me they are the perfect size.
