back from the 2nd bike ride now
yesterday took out the all round, all terrains bike (take it with me along the coast too when on the walks , and I dont mean road by the coast) so also took one of my cheaper cameras that is specifically for rough terrain and wet terrain
Today took my expensive bike and a better camera and went elsewhere
I got flashed twice for speeding haha but allso fell off the bike going up hill as had to stop on a narrow bit of busy lane to let cars fly by and tried getting my foot back in the 2nd stirrup whilst trying to pick up momentum again uphill but was hardly moving and when tried to stopin order to re-start my foot wouldnt come out of the stirrup so gravity won lol but had camera in the hand of side I fell, though was in case, hope its ok, my knee took most of the brunt but had pad on so should be ok.
What a prat eh? ...

Thanks Meebo, they are a bit annoying those stirrups sometimes trying to get your feet back in them everytime you have to stop.

Wow, never heard of a bike with stirrups, Sal glad you're OK, though you really do need to stop flashing those hot young guys, they might get ideas...

Yes, my other one is a bit of a bone shaker but it gets the job done! The thing is I wouldnt have fallen on that one as Id have been able to steady myself with a foot not 'locked' in a stirrup!
I dont take the racing bike out as much as it would get stolen here if I left it anywhere, even locked, also there is too much broken glass all over Cardiff. Ive just repaired a puncture in the other bike, but it has different tyres that can take more rough treatment than the other one.
Still it was worth it I had a lovely ride in a pretty part of countryside outside of Cardiff and the weather was glorious!

Racing bikes have stirrups to hold the foot in, dont ask me who thought up that daft idea! Lol
I suppose it does at least stop your foot slipping when you are speeding, especially when standing up and belting along like I do sometimes, it just also makes you fall off too when you cant get your foot out when almost at a standstill lol

Back in High School it took me a long time to figure out what those stirrups were used for in the VW Beetles. I figured it out Prom night.
