I don't think it got mainstream recognition because it was 'different' to the usual charity songs.
Seems to echo the theme of the charity, because it was different it wasn't accepted!

    Hi everyone,
some mighty fine choons you have all selected, I enjoyed listening to them whilst trying to clean out all the clutter in my hovel... erm, I mean 'office'!

I also miss Old, very much. It just ain't the same without him.

I haven't been too well again -another chest infection and bacterial lung colonisation. My hospital consultant has put me on 1000gms antibiotics x 3 times a day. I'm a week into the course and already feeling much better. I'm coping with the side effects.

Glad to hear that you are on the mend Shes, but sad to hear that you have lost another furbaby. I still shed a tear for my beloved Kaiser, we all miss him very much.He was such a precious, unique, handsome, gentle dog. Hope your jewellery appraisal is going along nicely.

Sounds like you are having fun with all your doggie wards Wyo! How's the weather in your neck of the woods? Cold enough for some of your famous crock pot stew yet?

Hope you had a good holiday Penni, and enjoyed being with your family. Thanks for the music, great choices.

It's really good to see Pos and books keeping the cocktail lounge occupied - with a wide selection of music to listen to. Hey Pos, thanks for the drink you left for me!

I haven't time to select any choons for you all right now - I have so much to do, got a busy time in front of me - just glad that I'm able to cope now that I'm able to breathe easier.
I think I'll make a cuppa before I get the washing in and start on the ironing and bed making.

I'll share .... help yourselves to a cake!

Brought back some Ould Jenever from the Hague so have a glass or two. Sorry you are all feeling under the weather. Hope you feel better soon. Yes I too miss Old's cheery banter. Wonder how he is doing?

Nah, it doesn't work me duck, I've tried it (many times!)
Unfortunately, I'm stuck with the bugs due to the Bronchiectasis .... see https://healthunlocked.com/blf/posts...n-colonisation.
So - instead of wearing sackcloth and ashes - I'm going to partee .... BIG time!

Oh Penni, I absolutely love classical music - I'm a great lover of Puccini, he is my favourite composer. My favourite opera is Madam Butterfly, Lucia and I went to see it performed in Oxford a couple of years ago. I cried my eyes out, and was so ashamed to leave with my eyes looking like a panda with conjunctivitis .... (should NOT have wore mascara/eyeliner)

As for afternoon delight - love the choon, but have to agree with Posbear - long time, no happen!

    Now then - I have found a beautiful singer - Angela GHEORGHIU - Vissi d'arte - Tosca - Puccini -

I cannot fault her voice and expressions - and if you care to learn the story behind Madame Butterfly, you will cry your eyes out - just so sad!

I have interrupted this message to you guys to let you know breaking news ......
Lucia has just phoned me to let me know that Mumford and Sons are appearing at the O2 Arena in London .....

OMG - I just love Marcus Mumford and his band - I will sell my soul to see them live!
Watch this space to see if we are lucky enough to get tickets! Lucia is arranging it and will phone me to let me know first thing tomorrow.

    Mumford I will wait https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rGKfrgqWcv0
