Thread: Cocktails!!! and Music

Afternoon folks (well it is here) hope all are well.

Trish, I have the Andy Stewart version of Donald were's yer troosers as a single. It will be a good while before it's kilt weather.

Old, great Aussie toon, hope you had a great day yesterday and don't have too much of a heavy head! See we let you win at cricket on your special day !

Wyo, I remember my mum having a wooden ironing board when I was a kid and she did much the same as your mum tacking a piece of old stripey flannelette bed sheet over the top. Those were the days when it was always mend and make do.

In a bit of a nostalgic mood now so here are a few old tunes from my collection.

Yes thanks booksie! - I thought that was very nice of your boys to let us win that one! They let us have 5 for 8 at one point
As you say - some really good old foot tappers there! Here's another!

I did over celebrate just a tad - BUT it was 34.5C after all & I had to keep the fluid levels up! (that's my excuse anyhow)

Hair of the dog anyone? Oh, & a few more choons.

Howdy all - only going to be 34C+ here today.

Well, we're in for a rare astronomical event starting at 11pm tonight - that being a Super Blue Blood Moon.
A super moon, is a full moon when it's at its closest to the earth.
A blue moon, is when you have 2 full moons in the one calendar month.
A blood moon, is when the moon is between the earth & the sun in an eclipse alignment & the suns light is reflected on the moon, which appears as an orange/red glow.

Having said that, our weather report predicts 80-90% cloud cover - so its likely we'll see nothing (being awake might help also!)

If you have anything that needs to be done by February 1st, today's the day to do it. LOL!

Some snow predicted for the next 2 days, but I don't think it is going to amount to much. It is 43F with a high of 54F light wind and partly sunny.

Sadie went to the Vet's on Monday morning for her hysterectomy. They all were surprised at how big she has gotten (33.5 pounds). She came through just fine and you can hardly see the incision. Dr. Bill, the original Vet did it. Never hurts to have the master at work. I went to get her yesterday and was told I couldn't have her - the help all fell in love with her and were just kidding. The said she was so sweet. Little did they know what a terror she can be. After she got home I let her outside and she and Atlas (the puppy next door) got the gate between the 2 yards open and must have had quite a frolic as Sadie panted a bit when I made her come in. I have wired up the gate since. Atlas was in the yard, but fortunately she went home when I told her to. The neighbors have nailed up a panel so Spice (German Shepherd) can't get to the gate, but Atlas can get through the squares. Sadie didn't appear to have done any damage, but girls - heck of a time to get smart!

I have been trying to get a picture of Sadie looking out of the office window, but so far she gets down when she hears the camera turn on. Modeling lessons must continue.

Liz came over for coffee and we watched "The Dressmaker" with Kate Winslet. It is an Australian movie on Amazon Prime. I've been a bit Leary of the Netflix and Amazon movies but I guess I shouldn't be, this was pretty good. I have also watched "Grace and Frankie" on Netflix and it is pretty good too.

    G'day all

Glad to hear Sadie's op went well & she's fighting fit. Would love to see a pic of her now, she's a chunky monkey & all grown up at 33.5lbs.
Hope you can catch her at the window.

We have an overcast cool day & it's trying to rain real hard, but doubt we'll get much out of it? Had a couple of mm the other day, but that just keeps the dust down & the weeds alive!
Didn't get to see the blue moon as we had too much cloud - plus - I slept through the event anyhow! Better shots of it on TV in any case!

We're already into February down here & I've changed all my calendars over this morning - now just waiting on my next LARGE eBid account.

Hope everyone is well & selling heaps Cheers!

Cheers Wyo - she looks great & has fab markings! Such a smart girl, & no worse for her recent experience.
She's all grown up now - still wish they had left her tail alone though! Then I could say she's bright eyed & bushy tailed!

My career in weather is doomed - we got about 4-5 inches yesterday, much to Sadie's delight. She loves snow, but hates it that Mom makes her come in after 20-30 minutes depending on the temperature. She does stop in the porch and wait for me to dry her off with a big towel when it is snowing. Her outer coat doesn't allow for her to get too wet especially if we get it off the surface. She's dry in a few minutes.

I saw a T-shirt on Facebook - it says "The weather outside is frightful but this fabric is delightful and since we have no place to go Let us sew, let us sew, let us sew.

    Hey all!!

Just popping in to see if every one has been behaving themselves - NOT!! LOL!!

WYO - Sadie is growing up so fast and is such a beautiful girl!! It looks like the modeling lessons are going well....

OLD - I got "cheated" out of the eclipse too - I had planned to take a picture about every 15-20 minutes, got one and went out to take the second and it was GONE!! I forgot that living down in a valley would make it disappear over the trees Thanks for all the laughs on the joke page

Not a lot going on here. I did get a "girl's day with Wanda when I took her up to Franklin (right outside the dreaded Nashville!) for her pre-admission appointment for her second knee surgery. She is out of hospital now and is staying with her daughter. She said that they did a different procedure that was supposed to be better but it is causing her way more pain. She will have a nurse coming in twice a week to check on her and a physical therapist coming in 3 times a week to help her get moving.

I'm getting ready to "visit" the UK - lol!! I've run into some dead ends on my family search and am going to join a UK site for a month - hopefully they will have more records that I can see to pick up the lines again.

It is still colder than "normal" but we haven't had any more snow - just rain. That trend is supposed to continue at least through February At least I'm not dealing with the ginormous ice cubes in the water pans every day, so that is good. I'm still toting water though - hubby ran over the end of the hose and I can't use the nozzle on it without water spraying every where. I'm going to have to boil some water to put the end of the hose in so it will be flexible enough to get a new end put on it. I've scheduled hubby an appointment with the eye doctor this month - if he can't see a bright orange hose laying on the ground, he needs glasses! LOL!!!

You all take care! I'm off to check on that UK website and see if I can find my "missing links"!
